Anatomy Tips
1. Sit and Look- Take some time to sit and look at the anatomical structure(s) you're studying.  Take as much time as you need, usually 10-30 minutes, before proceeding.  What you're doing is simply taking it all in without any pressure to learn and memorize just yet.  You'll find that your mind, whether you wish it to or not, will begin mapping some of the subtleties of the structure with zero help or hindrance from you.  Try it, it works.
2. Small Chunks- I wouldn't recommend memorizing more than 15-20 structures in one sitting.  This sitting may last 30-45 minutes, give or take and you shouldn't end the sitting without being able to, with labels covered up, name every structure without mistakes.  I would recommend going through without labels several times until the material is locked in your head.  If you wish, you may begin another sitting after a short 10-15 minute break.
3. Quick Review-When you begin new structures, quickly go back through the ones you learned previous and see if they're still in memory.  This does two things: 1) It reinforces what you've already learned and makes those neural connections stronger 2) This is your safety valve.  This technique alerts you to any memory trouble with material already covered.  If trouble is present, go over the material again.
4. Full Review-Schedule a day every week or two to cover everything you've learned up to that point.  Actually, unless you haven't taken the time to complete steps 1-3 thoroughly, this process is fairly quick.  Go back over every bone and every structure on or in the bone and see if you can name it.  If you come to something you don't know, write it on a piece of paper and keep moving.  What's written on your paper after the full review is what you need to spend a little extra time on.
5. Use It-If you want an excellent grade in anatomy class, use this system and you'll get it.
